School Counselling

Apex counselling provides a safe space within schools to support pupils in overcoming difficulties and concerns. Primary school counselling is delivered with parents consent.

Once a referral is completed parents will be contacted to organise an assessment.

School sessions can be delivered as 1-1 or group sessions, depending on the needs of the school.

If you have any queries please speak your your school.

I support children in learning strategies to help them manage emotions such as Anxiety, Anger, Frustration, Fear, Stress and Worry.

How I can help Children

How I can Help Children

I meet children at their age and stage of development, the sessions are child led. Parents can sign consent for children who are not Gillick Competent.  Children have the same rights to confidentiality as adults  but I promote open communication within the family. Any safeguarding concerns will be reported to the appropriate agencies.

Building Resilience

I understand family life can be challenging  at times I provide sessions to support  children with those challenges and changes that they may face, building resilience and strength.

Supervision

Supervision

Supervision sessions are 1.5hrs per month as under BACP guidelines. I work with a range of supervisee's who counsel children and adults.

I deliver 1-1 Supervision sessions to qualified counsellors and trainees.

I use Proctors model guiding principals in supervision, however I can also deliver CBT supervision on request.

I use Normative, Formative and Restorative in my supervision practise.

Flexibility is key when delivering supervision and I will work round supervisee's schedules as much as possible. There is a  24hr cancellation policy where a nominal fee may be charged.

Supervision can be delivered face to face or remotely depending on the supervisee's preference.

Counselling can feel isolating, support between supervision can reduce this and knowing that your supervisor can help with challenges as they come up.

Support between supervision sessions as required.

I have been supervising since 2016, when I achieved a Level 6 in Supervision.  I have a Level 5 in Counselling Children and Young People and a Post Graduate Diploma in CT.

I am an accredited member of BACP and I am currently on BACP Committee for CYPF. In 2024 I spoke at the CYPF  conference on Neurodiversity, and have wrote for the CYPF journal.
